The Bell Keeps Ringing

The Phillies continue to exceed everyone's expectations after they beat the Nationals last night 4-3. The Phils are now 7-2 on the season, have a run differential of +21, and own the best record in the National League and second-best winning percentage in all of Major League Baseball.

They're doing it with pitching, offense, and defense. This team is fun again and absolute joy to watch. Rhys Hoskins is destroying the ball lately. He has 5 HRs, 15 RBIs, and a 1.446 OPS. He hit two homers last night, both of which were absolute moon shots. The Twitter account Home Run Tracker (@DingerTracker) breaks down all the geeky details of every home run hit in MLB. Here's the data on Hoskins' first homer last night.

It left the bat at 95 mph at a launch angle of 37 degrees and traveled 363 feet. And it it's apex, the ball was 112 feet in the air. I think the fans in left field were signaling for a fair catch waiting for it to come down.

The Phils are 6-1 at home this year. I know it's early, but man, this is fun. #RingTheBell
