Little Fixes

Things aren't going great for the Phils, but I have a couple of ideas on how to get things moving.

JT Realmuto is slumping, so I'd give him a break and let him play first base for the rest of the weekend and let Garrett Stubbs catch. Stubbs is an offensive upgrade over Kody Clemens, and JT won't have to worry about calling pitches and running the game. A mental break is just as important as a physical one.

I've never liked having Kyle Schwarber at the top of the lineup. I'd move him to fifth or sixth where he can put on his Dave Kingman display with less pressure. I'd absolutely move Alec Bohm up in the lineup.

And I never, ever want to see Cristian Pache in the lineup again. He stinks like feet. The A's, the worst team in the American League, didn't want him. Enough said. Give all the at-bats to Brandon Marsh, who has earned them. DFA Pache and bring up either Dalton Guthrie or Scott Kingery from Triple A.

Here's my lineup:

Stott - 4

Turner - 6

Bohm - 5

Castellanos - 9

Realmuto - 3

Schwarber - DH

Stubbs - 2

Marsh - 8

Cave/Kingery/Guthrie - 7

Blame the Beard

Last fall, I took part in the #Movember fundraiser for men’s health projects and research around the world. I grew a beard and raised some money and everything was cool. Especially because I didn't have to shave. But then things started happening.

Good news - the Phillies made the World Series. Bad news - they lost.

Good news - the Eagles made the Super Bowl. Bad news - they lost.

Good news - baseball season starts and hope springs eternal. Bad news - the Phillies have lost their first four games of the season.

Clearly, it's all happening because of my beard. I mean, what else could it be? So halfway through last night's Phillies shellacking by the New York Yankees, I got rid of the beard. It's outta here. Let the winning streak commence. #superstition #Phillies #Eagles #RingTheBell

Unapologetically Awful

Welp, there it is. The Phillies new City Connect uniform. It's awful. An assault to the eyes. And barely a connection to the city. Sur...
