Even More Help Wanted

Add bullpen coach to the list of vacancies in the Phillies help wanted section. Jim Gott was not offered a new contract for next year, which isn't really a surprise considering how historically bad the bullpen was in 2020.

That leaves the Phillies with the following positions to fill:

• General manager
• Pitching coach
• Bullpen coach
• Catcher (if they don't re-sign JT Realmuto, which they damn well better)
• Centerfielder (they don't seem completely sold on Adam Haseley or Roman Quinn. Odubel Hererra? Ha. Fat chance.)

Acting GM Ned Rice will do the hiring, I guess, unless the team hires a new GM in the next few days. Now that the World Series is over, free agent negotiations and signings can begin early next week. It would be nice if the Phils had a new GM in place by then, but I don't see that happening.
