Enough is finally enough. Phillies starters Vince Velasquez and Matt Moore have been sent to the bullpen, and Ranger Suarez and Chase Anderson are in the rotation. They join Aaron Nola, Zach Wheeler, and Kyle Gibson.
I wish the Phillies would just release Velasquez and Moore and be done with them. Admit the mistake and move on. But, it's a start. Now, the Phils need to take the next two from the God-awful Pirates and sweep the Nationals, whose only remaining threat is Juan Soto.
Last night's 7-0 embarrassment can't happen again. The margin for error with just 59 games left is way too small to have that kind of result. They're still just 3.5 games behind the Mets, and the only way the Phillies can make the playoffs is to win the division. It's a good thing everyone else has underachieved.
