It's Opening Day!

When we last left our pinstriped heroes, they were staring into the abyss and watching the Houston Astros celebrate a World Series victory.

But it's Opening Day, and anything is possible. And after last year's absolutely ridiculous playoff run, I believe it more than ever. We got an extra month of free baseball with no expectations. It was so much freaking fun.

It's a new year, and this has the potential to be the best Phillies team we've seen since Chase, Jimmy, Ryan, and Cole were filling the seats every night. People are going to love Trea Turner, if they don't already. His one-man show at the World Baseball Classic was must-see TV. And Bryce Harper is going to pull his Superman act again and be back before Memorial Day. Just watch. And speaking of watching, that new Phanavision thing isn't going to just block the view of Center City–it's going to block the sun.

So all I'm saying is that it's Opening Day and I haven't been as excited about this team in a really long time. It's gonna be a fun summer.

See you at the ballpark. #RingTheBell

There's even some late-breaking Opening Day Eve news–the Phils have acquired outfielder Cristian Pache from Oakland for minor league pitcher Billy Sullivan. They made room for Pache by putting Rhys Hoskins (who is getting his exploded knee fixed today) on the 60-day injured list. Pache is expected to be with the team in Texas today for the Opener. Outfielder Dalton Guthrie is the odd man out, and will head back to the minors.
